You - Poem

You. You freed me. You gave me freedom through your ability to build me. My loneliness was allowed to remain, in strength, in being alone. Being alone didn't mean without other, it meant I was allowed to be alone, to be me, with you by my side. Your mind challenged me. Caused me to relearn what I thought I knew. You left me in awe. My chest, my mind, my being became numb in pools of feeling and words that could never quite describe how you caused me to feel. The strength and wisdom in your mind and in your decisions left me in pain that healed me, built me, empowered me. You. you freed me. Our connection can never be denied and remains more than a memory it's a dream, a night mare, a future that cradles my heart and whispers "you are enough”.
